Randomness of the few months

Kaitlyn' s preschool class went to the planetarium a couple of weeks ago. The class just finished learning about the 8 planets. Skyler actually sat through the whole 45 minute movie. It was pretty cool!

The kids on the planet mars. (I think)

Yes my boys are playing video games. Well Skyler is playing Mario Kart and Aaron is just playing with the remote. It's cute though. Just a peck at what to kept when they are older.

Kaitlyn made this at her preschool party. She is very talented. She also made Dan and I a frame with her picture in it. I have been waiting for this since she was born. I love homemade items.

Skyler's attempt at a snow angel.

Yes she is threating me with a snowball. I got the picture anyways. She missed put not by much.

Kaitlyn's little snow angel.

The mommy snow angel. Which I did with no snow pants. That is how much I love my children. I laid in the snow in my normal clothes to show them how to make a snow angel.

The first time I ever braided her hair into to piggy's.

Kaitlyn's preschool class. She is with these kids three times a week and she was still shy around them. I think it was because we were in a new place. She had a lot of fun though.

Isn't he cute. Such blue eyes.

My baby is getting so big. He is growing out of his 12 month jammies and he isn't even a year old. He fits in 12 month clothes though just not in the butt area. He got that from his daddy. His pants are always falling off.

Skyler's third birthday. I was too lazy to make a cake so I bought a little one since we weren't having a huge party. No left overs my favorite.

Kaitlyn and her best friend Madeline. As soon as Madeline showed up Kaitlyn perked up at the planetarium.

Yes he is eating one of my homemade ornaments. I don't think I have any left. They either got crushed or the baby tried to eat them. I guess I will make more next year.

The Mortal Instruments and Life

This is totally not like me to write about something other then my children. My siblings will be shocked.

So I have been reading this series called The Mortal Instruments. It has three books in it. City of Bones, City of Ashes and City of Glass. I have been putting it off for months to read these books and I am glad I did because now I don't have to wait for a sequel since they are all out. The first one kept my on the edge of my seat because of the love that was growing between the two people in this book and then to find out that it was wrong for them to have those feelings. Now I am trying not to give anything away but in the end, everything works out. Happy love endings are the best. My siblings like to say that I read smutty novels but no I do not. Yes I read books with romance in them but a lot of them are LDS or they have romance in them but if they start to get too graphically detailed, or offending in any way I usually put it down. Now just to set the record straight I do read other books other then romance. I like mystery, some fantasy and other types of books. I was thinking it isn't necessarily the romance,( all the kissing and stuff like that. Of course if it has more then just kissing in it then I usually put it down.) that I like about the type of books I read, it is the courtship that I like. The glances, the talking to get to know one another, the stolen kisses, all the things that lead up to a happy couple together. It always takes me back to when Dan and I started dating. We had such a great courtship. Our first date, which it wasn't suppose to be a date, it was to practice for our dance test, but Dan turned it into a date. Anyway our first date was a very deep first date. I have never opened up to a guy or anyone for that matter as quickly as I did to Dan, which is probably why I knew we were going to be together forever.

When books have people who connect to one another so perfectly it sucks me into their world cheering for them on the side lines. Wanting them to have what I have. I know silly but true. I am a very strange person.

As the books go from one book to the next I kept hoping that things would work out in the end. It almost gave me panic attacks to see them not be able to be together. I was thinking, "this can't be happening," Yes I am crazy and very weird but I zoomed through those books like a madman. I had to know how it was going to end. So this one weekend I spent reading I got nothing done. Sad but true. If I had, had to wait for the third book to come out I think I would have gone crazy. I actually reread them to realized that I did really like the books. At first I didn't know what to think about them. It reminded me of Twilight and Harry Potter mixed together. I kept thing, "Gee lady get your own ideas" but as I reread them I thought yes it has similar ideas as those other books but that it also had some its own creativity in it. Now I don't want to start a war or hated feels about books. I am not a hater or I try not to be. I don't like to argue and everyone is entitled to their own thoughts. I am just sharing feels I had on the books because it has been on my mind a lot and so venting hopefully will clean out my head.

They were good books. They ended well. Don't most books end that way I can see why she picked some of the ideas from other books because they sold well and people loved those other books. She did a great job not making it all about sex like the forth book was in the Twilight book. I guess the only reason I was disappointed with Stephenie Meyers fourth book is it was way too perfect, there was way too much about sex, and I expected more from someone who has an LDS background. I have come to learn that being LDS in Utah is different then being LDS somewhere else. I almost went into shock when I came here six years ago and saw how on the borderline some of the young women and young men in our church acted and how slack they were with their standards. I mostly mean the ones I saw in college.

I grew up in a very small town were all my friends weren't LDS because the only LDS girls were my sisters and a few other families that didn't go to my school. I knew everyone in my ward because there weren't many of us. Now I live in a ward that is great but I go to church and still don't know half of the people in my ward. But because we lived in such a small branch we had to live our standard that we believed in because we were the minority and we had to show our town that we lived what we preached. I wasn't perfect as a teenager and heck I am defiantly not perfect now but it was easier to live gospel then because we didn't have stores near by to hang out at, or places to spend our money on worldly things. We had our families and that was all we needed. Which is probably were I got my love of reading from because there wasn't much else to do. But I loved living in a small town because it wasn't noisy, crowded, and not full of all the worldly temptations. This book made me do a lot of thinking which lead me to all these thoughts that I have had recently. I don't mean to offend anyone, they are just thoughts and I tend to ramble and say things. I do love the area we live in now. I love my neighbors and I love my ward. I have an awesome ward. I just miss the simple things. I hope you enjoy my thoughts.

Halloween

Super M&M and my cute baby elephant.

One of their many doors they stopped at.

My cute snowflake queen.

My cute baby elephant. Doesn't he make a cute elephant?

My little family. Next year Dan and I might dress up.

Here is Aaron and the ward trunk or treat. I think he was waiting for me to get him something to eat.

Our attempts of carving pumpkins this year. Each kid drew a face on their pumpkin and I cut them out. They weren't into pulling out the guts of the pumpkin so I had very orange hands by the end of it.

Aren't they cute!

At one of our neighbors house waiting for them to join us on our adventure of knocking on doors.

Kaitlyn and Skyler went trick or treating with their friends Madeline and Isaac. Aren't they cute. I forgot to put Skyler's cape on so he was just a M&M that night. Oh well he had a lot of fun. We tried to make Halloween a more exciting event this year. The kids seemed to enjoy everything we did.

Fall Fun

So this month we went to Gardner Village to visit the petting zoo and the hay maze. The kids had soo much fun. Kaitlyn didn't have fun with the petting zoo but she had so much fun with the hay maze.

Skyler was trying to keep his ears warm. I also thinking that the baby cow that was mooing near by was really loud in Skyler's ears.

Kaitlyn running to find her way out of the maze. She ran in and out of that maze like five or six times. She had soo much fun.

She is telling me she won and she is doing a happy dance while doing it.

The sheep was really soft. At first he wasn't sure but he was really getting into by the end.

Here comes my family. They are on the search for the end of this maze. For being cold outside everyone was in very happy moods.

"Which way should I go?"

"Got to find the end. Hurry!"

Having fun in the petting zoo.

"Look that goat has horns mommy"

Sibling love

My first attempt to french braiding my daughter's hair. She has been letting me play with her hair and I am really enjoying experimenting on her with different braids and things.

I just had to buy matching outfits. Aren't they just super cute! So adorable.

I put her hair into some form of messy hair bun thing. It was really cute. She can really pull off just about anything.

Look How She's Grown

I was looking through my pictures when I ran into Kaitlyn's baby pictures. I was amazed at how much she has grown in four years. It made my heart ache. She was so cute and still is super cute. I can't believe how the time has flown. I wanted to share just a few memories from the last few years.

Here she is the day she is born. She was such a chunk. 9lbs 6ozs, and 20 inches long.

I think she is only a few days old in this picture and she is already posing. I loved that cute little outfit on her. I think I wore it out.

Isn't she a doll. After her colic passed. She was such a good little baby. She wasn't much of a cuddlier but always so happy.

She loved her toes. Always playing with them or sucking on them.

Skyler was looking at pictures with me and when I got to this picture he says, "Look mom! It's Aaron." No this is not Aaron. Aaron and Kaitlyn just look a lot a like. Kaitlyn is ten months old in this picture. Such a cute little girl. About this time people complimented me on how cute my little boy was, even when she was wearing a colorful dress or had clips in her hair. Now people tell me what a cute little girl when I am caring my little Aaron around. It can be a little frustrating at times.

She did not like it when I did her hair. She always managed to rip it out right after I put it up.

Kaitlyn is 20 months in this picture. Out of all they took this was one of very few that turned out. I was lucky that she kept her hair in long enough for them to take her pictures.

She is almost three in this picture. So cute! She would only wear dresses. Now at least I can convincer her to wear pants every now and then.

This was one of the very few times she let me do her hair. I believe she is 3 years old in this picture.

This is my 4 year old. She asks me to do her hair almost everyday even if it doesn't stay in all day. Now she begs me to take pictures of her. I can't believe she is 4. She is so independent now that it amazes me how much they learn in just four years. I have feared that the hardships we have gone through the last two years would cause us not to be close but she still wants me around and she is always telling me she loves me. So I know my Father in Heaven has made sure that even how bad it got or gets, Kaitlyn forgives so easily sand still wants me to be a part of her life. She is such a joy in our family.

A Home Makeover

My silly husband

This was the old carpet.

This carpet was in my dining area. Which we turned into a family sort of room.

The day of the demolition. Proof that I did help so. Though I was the one who painted the whole house.

This was underneath the carpet in my dining area. Why they didn't take the tile out is still a question in my mind.

The yucky carpet is going. Yeah!!!!!!!!!!

This was why we needed to replace the floor. It was cracking and coming apart and it was crooked. Not safe for children. I could only buy so many rugs to hide the tile from my crawler.

This is our subfloor. Disgusting I know. After get the subfloor out we have to replace several of the normal floor boards so that our floor would be even. Such a pain in the butt.

My gorgeous new floor.

I love my new floors. Only complaint is I have to wear socks so my feet don't freeze in the winter.

Aaron loves the new floor. He doesn't have to crawl on his feet any more because the floor is even.
